Evaluation of Contact Lens Care Pattern and Contact Lens Case Care

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the contact lens care pattern of ECPs(Eye Care Professionals) in Korea, especially on the lens case care.
Methods: Data were collected from 55 contact lens wears who are ECPs visited TVCI(The Vision Care Institute) from April to August 2007.
Results: Only 65% subjects washed their hands before inserting CLs. The rate of CL case cleaning among ECPs was 61% and of replacing CL cases 90%. Cleaning CL cases every time of wear was 43% and once a week 29%. Cleaning lens case with lens care solution & air dry was only 11%. Replacing lens case every month was 59%. Contact lens care patterns, especially on lens case, of ECPs who educate patient how to care contact lens system was not appropriate.
